About Natusan Sustainable Cat Litter
Tight-clumping, traps odour: Say goodbye to unpleasant smells! The production of Natusan cat litter involves refining and activating plant fibres through a high-tech clumping process. The result – active wood fibres that are able to absorb and trap seven times their own weight in liquid!
Less cleaning, lasts longer: Natusan clumping litter is designed so that urine and faeces can be removed easily from the box without having to empty the entire tray. Solid clumps form which makes removal easy. A full weekly change is now a thing of the past!
100% natural: Our natural litter is biodegradable. So it's better for your cat and for the environment. Natusan litter is a lot lighter too, so no more heavy bags to carry around.
Cat approved: made from recycled wood fibres, our litter is soft on paws and has no added fragrance so even fussy cats will love it too.
About the Recyclable Litter Box
The Recyclable Litter Box is made from cardboard and the base is lined with one layer of paper, one layer of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and one layer of Low-Density Polyethylene. This protects the cardboard from urine splashes and ensures its durability during the month. As the layers are extremely thin, it also ensures the box is full recyclable.
Lightweight and simple to set up in your home, the box folds down for easier storage until ready to use. The removable lid allows for quick and easy clump removal. With daily clump removal, your Litter Box will last up to a month.
How it Works:
- Unpack your Recyclable Litter Box (4 parts including the scoop)
- Unfold the sides of your box and pour the litter in so that it completely covers the bottom (usually about 2 inches)
- Fold down the four top flaps, place the lid on (lip facing backwards) and press down
- Build your scoop
- Scoop clumps and faeces out regularly
- Top up with fresh litter when required, maintaining a constant level
- When you are ready for a new Box, remove all contents and close down your used litter box by lifting up the top flaps and pressing the sides inwards
- Recycle along with your household cardboard

FAQs
Natusan Sustainable Litter FAQs
What is clumping and non-clumping cat litter?
There are two main types of cat litter - clumping or non-clumping. Clumping is simply where the waste (especially the urine) “clumps” together in lumps. Non-clumping is where the constituent litter particles do not clump together (i.e. they remain as separate particles) despite being soaked in urine. Clumping litter allows you to remove clumps, leaving behind fresh litter so you make full tray changes less frequently.
How often should I clean my cat's litter tray?
Ideally, you should remove the clumps from your cat's litter tray as and when they appear, however we know that’s not always possible. At the very minimum, the clumps should be removed daily.
How do I dispose of Natusan in an environmentally friendly way?
Even though Natusan clumping litter is biodegradable and compostable we generally do not recommend to do this using private / at home composting systems or garden compost heaps. This is because private / at home composting systems do not reach a sufficient temperature to reliably kill all bacteria and/or parasites possibly contained in used cat litter / cat faeces. Using this potentially infectious compost in your garden could lead to a spread or a re-infection of pathogens. Composting in industrial composting systems is absolutely possible (and we do this as part of the Natusan Collect & Compost service), however, most councils do not allow the collection of any used cat litter in garden waste bins. If you’re unsure of the rules around this then we recommend you contact your local council for more information.
