Today we’re talking about the advantages of buying in bulk (and we’re not talking about hoarding toilet roll…)
We’ve taken the decision to put a stop to the production of our 7L bags, and instead are stocking our litter in multiples of 10 litres, up to 40L (enough to last an average-sized cat 4 whole months!)
We took this decision to reduce the amount of packaging needed to be produced for our litter, but another benefit is that Natusan’s cat litter is available to purchase in bulk.
If you’re reading this blog, then you’re likely a responsible sort who considers their effect on the environment. Buying in bulk is a great way to develop a more low-waste and sustainable lifestyle, and often works out better for your wallet.
It seems obvious that buying in bulk means getting more for your money, but that isn’t the only benefit, as bulk buying is also more eco-friendly and contributes to reducing your carbon footprint - less waste, more wonder!

Save Money
Buying in bulk is often one of the cheaper options, as you aren’t paying for excess packaging, and many retailers (ourselves included) offer discounts for a larger purchase, passing the savings on to you. Our 10L bags contain more litter, using less material, minimising the cost per unit.
When purchasing our largest offering; 40L, this equates to just £1.07 per litre, or £10.75 a month based on the average usage of 10L a month for a standard sized cat.
Less Packaging
Buying in bulk helps us to reduce the amount of packaging used, whilst our bags are completely recyclable, less packaging generates less waste, due to the reduction of the amount of materials needed to create the packaging.
Here at Natusan, we’re proud to be plastic free, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do our part to be totes eco-friendly when we shop by increasing efficiency in our production processes and streamlining our packaging.
Save Time
Without having to place orders as frequently on your litter, or by updating deliveries to a lower frequency (we offer deliveries every 2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 weeks with subscriptions) you are free to pursue other hobbies… such as keeping an eye on those pesky birds!
Less Transport
Bulk purchasing means our delivery trucks can be packed more efficiently, reducing CO2 emissions and pollution.

Our top tip is to prepare a storage space where you can store the bulk of your litter, with a bag available and on-hand for the all important top up - our smaller-sized bags are perfect for storing away out of sight and away from prying paws…
