We’ve come to the end of another year, and amid all the Christmas madness, we wanted to take some time to look back on the last year. So here’s the scoop on our 2021 here at Natusan: what we’ve achieved, how we’ve made a difference, how you and your cats made a difference by choosing Natusan, along with a few of other highlights in case you missed them.

Ecologi Update
At Natusan we believe in less waste and more wonder, which is why we developed our natural, biodegradable litter in the first place. You might already know about our cooperation with Ecologi—we’ve talked about it quite a bit on our blog over the past year, and you can take a look back at some of our articles. Ecologi works on impactful climate solutions and helps companies to become carbon positive. We work together with them to plant a tree for every single order, as well as supporting them in their Gold Standard certified carbon reduction projects.
At the time of writing, we’ve planted over 43,000 trees in forests worldwide—and these trees have managed to offset a total of 105.97 TONNES of carbon emissions! We’re so excited about our work with Ecologi and the positive impact that it makes, and we know that this will continue to grow. Even now, as you’re reading this, every new purchase adds yet another tree to a forest somewhere in the UK or elsewhere.
Thanks to Ecologi’s amazing resources online you can see in real time just how many trees have been planted, and how many tonnes of CO2e (or carbon dioxide equivalent) have been offset. Ecologi even provides convenient comparisons, to put those figures into perspective—105.97 tonnes of CO2e is equal to 81 long haul flights!
2021 Charities Update
It’s not just environmental projects we’ve been supporting this year. We’re proud supporters of several animal charities, and this year we’ve partnered with Carla Lane Animals in Need, London Inner City Kitties, Rain Rescue, and Yorkshire Cat Rescue to help them in their work with cats and kittens in need.
From sponsoring Yorkshire Cat Rescue’s 2022 Calendar, to the charity rock concert event “Mogstock” that took place in aid of Rain Rescue, we’re happy to have been able to support these charities in their amazing work. (Plus, if you’re thinking of adopting a new feline friend in 2022, our charity partners are a great place to start!)
An Award-Winning Year!
We couldn’t round up our year without mentioning a few achievements for our natural litter: we were shortlisted for (and won!) some industry awards this year and we’re grateful to be recognised for the work that we’re doing. We were shortlisted as finalists in the UK Customer Experience Awards and the Pet Industry Federation Awards too, and (drum roll please) Natusan won the 2021 Pet Innovation Award for the Best Litter Product of the Year!
2022 Here We Come
