Natusan x Ecologi Recap 2022

Happy new year! We’ve said goodbye to 2022, and now we’re starting afresh in 2023. But while we’re looking ahead into the new year, we thought we’d take a quick look back over what we achieved over the previous 12 months—with a special focus on our partnership with Ecologi.

Natusan & Ecologi

This month marks our 24th month as an Ecologi partner, and we’re delighted to remain a part of their Top 100 as we go into the new year.

At the time of writing, our partnership with Ecologi and your Natusan purchases have helped to plant a whopping 75,955 trees. And there’s even more: we’ve also supported 38 climate positive projects, including peatland conservation and restoration in Indonesian Borneo and rainforest protection in central Brazil.

Ecologi’s 2022 Projects

Planting trees is one large part of what Ecologi does, but there’s so much more work to be done if we want to protect our planet. Ecologi undertakes and supports a huge variety of climate positive projects worldwide, not only in forestry but also in areas such as renewable energy.

On our Ecologi homepage, you can see a detailed breakdown of all the projects we’ve helped to support, along with the trees planted and their locations. We’ve already covered a few of them over the last year, so let’s take a closer look at some of the work that you, our Natusan customers, have helped to fund…

Efficient Cooking Methods in Tanzania

Earlier this year we wrote about Ecologi’s project updating cooking stoves in Tanzania to make them more energy efficient, which was just one of the 38 projects we helped to fund in 2022.  You can find out more about the sustainable cooking stoves project in our blog post.

Forest Protection

There have also been plenty of protection and restoration projects in our planet’s forests and rainforest. Projects that we at Natusan have supported include the prevention of deforestation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, protecting the Amazon in Peru, and rainforest protection in central Brazil.

You can take a look at our post to understand more about Ecologi’s work on forest protection and conservation, and you can read about more of Ecologi’s work in South America in this post about Andean forest conversation.

Wind & Solar Power

We also helped to support a whole host of renewable energy projects, and you can read about all of these projects thanks to Ecologi’s project information. With wind farms in Thailand and South Africa and the first ever wind power project in Honduras, as well as solar projects in Vietnam and Egypt, the projects cover multiple continents but they’re all working towards a better future for our planet.
