Earth Day 2023

Saturday April 22nd is Earth Day! Here at Natusan we thought one day just wasn’t enough, so we’re celebrating Earth Week - the entire week leading up to the big day.

The theme of this year’s Earth Day is Invest In Our Planet - which might sound familiar to those of you who follow Earth Day, because it’s the same theme they chose last year. For the first time in their 33 year history, the organisers of Earth Day are choosing to continue with a theme across two years, because it’s just that important!

Following on from the success of last year’s campaign, this year’s Earth Day will continue to encourage governments, businesses, organisations, institutions (and Earth’s citizens as a whole) to invest in our planet and hold ourselves accountable.

Earth Day 2023

What is Earth Day?

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd. It raises awareness of our need to protect the planet and its resources. It began back in 1970, and really marked the start of the modern environmental movement, pushing environmental issues into the spotlight and starting a conversation about environmental concerns.

Since then, more and more people have become aware of the impact we’re having upon our planet - and in recent years, the realities of climate change have become increasingly harder to ignore. Earth Day is now marked by more than 1 billion people worldwide, making it, according to the organisation itself, “widely recognized as the largest secular observance in the world”.

What’s happening this year?

Take a look at Earth Day’s resources on 52 ways to invest in our planet. It’s full of different ways that we can all help to make a difference, including signing petitions, organising community clean-ups, opting to use environmentally-friendly cleaning products, as well as changing our diet to fight climate change and combatting plastic pollution. Getting involved with Earth Day might help you to discover a new sustainable habit that you can make your new normal.

Sustainability at Natusan

We’re big believers in the power of simple sustainable steps, which allow us to all make a difference in our own way. This is why we developed our sustainable cat litter, offering cat parents a more planet-friendly option for that daily pet essential - and it’s also why we partner with Ecologi to plant a tree for every order and support other climate-positive projects!

This year, we’re celebrating Earth Week and we’ve put together an Earth Day Quiz to let you test your knowledge on all things nature, climate and sustainability. There’s even a prize to be won, but hurry! You can play the quiz until midnight on April 30th, so get going!
